This "ale" is definitely not for health conscious individuals! The cholesterol content of 2 egg whites is not acceptable.. But it sure looks yummy though..

Interesting ale!

It belongs on the 'to avoid' and 'to enjoy' sub-categories...a very unique ale if I'll be the one to judge...perhaps the fermentation process was unique too that's why the 'medicinal' tastes appears. ;D

Despite my better judgement, I gave this one a try. In a word ... yuuuuck!

Oh, it was just awful, awful, unspeakable. I'm sticking to mulled wine for my winter warmer, with the occasional hot scotch and water.

Ooooh, I can still taste the Yard of Flannel. I'd better have another scotch.

I tried something similar to this a few years back. The flavor of the beer overwhelms that of the egg. I found that the egg adds a certain consistency but no taste at all.

I guess it would be like a foaming latte, is there any alcohol left in the cocktail after boiling.

[...] The rum flip is closely related to the egg flip, aka the “yard of flannel,” which another shivering PNWer, c at Slakethirst, attempted a while back with mixed reviews. With c’s fair warning mixed with my own curiosity — and my apprehension at drinking something composed mainly of hot beer and eggs — I set out to make my own flip.
